I have been working at Premier Farnell full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Focused on employee engagement, talent development and employee well-being. Socially responsible and ethical company. Customer focused with great emphasis on customer satisfaction.

Cons

Lacks the consistency in delivery with some of the great initiatives. Not the best paying employer in the region or industry. Middle management needs to up their game significantly in most areas.

Advice to Management

Upper management should focus on better employee remuneration to retain talent.

    Pros

    used to have a great cEO who was forcing change
    new ceo part of the old school way of of doing things, loves numbers associated with the old fashioned Farnell of the past
    can he keep up the good work of harriet green?

    Cons

    no bonus paid even though ewe worked outr hardest and supported parts of the business that did well
    dont get shares given
    was changing for the better but worried will go backwards to how it used to be

    Advice to Management

    dont go backwards because harriet has left

    Pros

    1. Premier Farnell has a very strong and leadership led C-level management which gives strong direction to the company.

    2. Company focus on staff development and growth is exceptional.

    3. Strong performance led culture allows strong performers to excel and do well in the company.

    Cons

    1. Mid-Managers (Directors and Head of Departments) dilute and diffuse the focus set by the C-level management with some even contradicting the C-level directions.

    2. Some directors provide an imbalance level of support and guidance to members in the same team.

    2. Too many talkers and little doers at the mid-managers and head of department levels.

    Advice to Management

    Continue focusing on talent recovery and support stellar performancers.
    Pay attention to mid-managers with a high-turnover level in their team.
    Pay attention to how the mid-managers (directors and head of department) communicate and guide their staffs for signs of wrong guidance.
