I worked at Presbyterian Hospital Plano full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Low staff turnover, professional staff, good teamwork, clean and safe work environment. Loved pledge to my peers program.

Cons

Did not feel safe complaining about management.

Advice to Management

Most management staff were very professional. However during my employment I observed several instances of poor and unprofessional management decisions by one person in particular that were allowed by upper management. (These did not involve me directly)

I worked at Presbyterian Hospital Plano full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, great shift differential, Success Sharing bonus 2x a year. Solid, caring, smart nursing and allied team. Best place I ever worked until management changes.

    Cons

Tattle tale level of management, heard 1st hand of long "quoted" conversation reported, with "serious" concern for Pt safety - reported after several days, and not to immediate supervisor on staff. Manager doesn't listen to alternate input, even though RN received Pt accolades concurrently. Manager likes "it's the perception" statements to shut down any two way give and take. The RN missed Sucess Share and pay raise when tattle tale info was only info on annual review.

    Advice to Management

Keep a REAL open door, not just people who supposedly keep track of long conversations other people supposedly had. Watch the work and grow some hide - Critical Care nurses aren't known for accepting BS.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Presbyterian Hospital Plano (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I Promise behavior expected from staff.
    Yearly bonus related to KPI's
Walkingspree bonus on paycheck for 10,000 steps a day. Fit Bit complementary for each employee.
    Chain of command in place.

    Cons

Each employee is expected to perform the duties for 2 FTE's.
Managers and directors in general do not exhibit "I Promise " behavior.
It looks as though THP is "running off" the older, more experienced staff , especially nurses.
Staff short in nursing units due to turnover.
