I have been working at Procter & Gamble full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great products - outstanding product and brand development
Great people to work with - peers are phenomenal

Cons

Senior management - lots of Yes Ma'ams/Sirs. Focused on shareholders versus what is right for the business. Understand the reason why, but for a company who embraces a mission of Purpose/Values/Principles, it often conflicts their PVP.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Procter & Gamble full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, great work, good compensation and benefits relative to cost of living. Excellent and strong company values and mission.

    Cons

Strategic focus has slipped a lot over the past few years. New CEO isn't a visionary or a really strong leader; more of an operations specialist. Too many layers of management - needs to be flatter to enable better and faster decision making. Note: many of these cons are common to most larger organizations!

    Advice to Management

Rewards system and culture needs more team versus individual focus, and much, much, much more focus on real simplification. Less hierarchical management structure needed (fewer management levels, more delegation of decision making where appropriate). Real simplification

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Procter & Gamble full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Some of the most intelligent, caring employees around
    Great reputation, brands, and ethics

    Cons

So big that employees can't see how they contribute to the bottom line and instead work on functional goals that aren't always aligned to the business.

    Advice to Management

Consider de-centralizing many of the core functions so that people focus on business support, not pleasing their functional management
