I worked at Procter & Gamble full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Opportunity in many locations and functions in the company for a finance manager.

Cons

Still struggling along with male managers who want to manage everyone as if they were white middle class males.

Advice to Management

Eliminate Band 3 or Band 4 managers to speed up getting good new ideas to the people in the organization who can move on them.

I worked at Procter & Gamble full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people, good training. Their PVP's are wonderful on paper.

    Cons

Inconsistent direction from upper management in my business group. Some upper mgmt playing favorites. Seems that the more incompetent you are as a manager, the more likely you will be promoted to a different business group. Throwing colleagues 'under the bus' is ignored and in some cases that I've seen, rewarded. PVP's aren't stood by in daily business. Once you leave the company you will never be hired back in any of their business groups - even if you are laid off.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your people and how they are 'managing' their teams. If you interview team members, you wi;l get the realy story.
