I worked at Procter & Gamble full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

You are very well-compensated at P&G. Even administrators retire with seven-figure 401ks. The profit-sharing program is extremely lucrative.

Cons

Once you're coded 'sales' or 'marketing' there is very little flexibility to do anything, but what upper management feels you should be doing.

Advice to Management

Give your employees an opportunity to explore other functions within the company. It might help you retain more of your younger, diverse sales force.

    Take risks

I have been working at Procter & Gamble full-time

    Pros

The company generally does value employees, tries to make work meaningful and investing in capabilities; you can really learn and experience a lot across a range of roles.

    Cons

Political and cliquey. Death by a million processes and policies.

    Advice to Management

P&G hires real smart people. Sometimes,to justify all these smarts, it leads to unnecessary or overly complex changes in products, processes or structure that does more harm than good. K.I.S.S.
