Pros

The folks who do the actual work have a great time. You work with a lot of Fortune 100 clients around the world. Some decent technology has been developed.

Cons

Limited opportunities to move up. Expect to work your ass off even on weekends. No formal training. Lots of back stabbing by superiors...Keep your resume up to date.

Advice to Management

Shake the tree and figure out how you can move folks up the chain.

    Pros

Fast growing company with an entrepreneurial dynamic.

    Cons

Senior management are "bleacher coaches". One in particular thinks he can run the show from his bedroom in Chicago behind a command cell called "Sales Force.com". People get frustrated and leave. High turnover.

    Advice to Management

Remember you are in a professional services business. Professional services are very "people centric". Treat your people like your most prized asset because, "They are dummy".

I have been working at Procurian full-time

    Pros

The HQ in KOP is really nice. Open spaces and high ceilings. There are really great people in the rank and file who really want to help their clients.

    Cons

If your in middle management in a practice its very hard to get ahead. They have programs for advancement for junior personal but nothing for people further along in their career. Practice leaders do not give their subordinates exposure to senior leadership. Rank and file sourcing folks feel trapped with no clear direction on where their career goes next. Don't believe the company hype that the organization is flat and new ideas are welcome (most get shot down unless your manager can take credit for it in part).

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership needs to stop taking for granted that the practice leads are giving them the whole picture. Perhaps start instituting 360 evaluations where junior employees can anomonously provide perspective. I promise you will be surprised.
