I worked at Professional Photographers of America full-time

    Pros

    - Own office
    - Casual every day
    - On MARTA
    - Low-stress environment
    - Nice members
    - Gym reimbursement
    - Bi-weekly breakfast
    - Periodic outings/meals
    - Half-day Fridays in the summer
    - Flexible hours
    - Good-natured CEO

    Cons

    - Underpaid
    - Poor health insurance options
    - No upward mobility
    - Lack of professional development
    - A "No Gossip" Rule that is only enforced when convenient for senior management

    Advice to Management

With this kind of organizational structure, it's hard for management to retain entry-level employees, so I understand the turnover. Might fare better if PPA reallocated some of its food/outing budget toward paying these lower positions more. I'd really only recommend PPA to someone who had their heart on being in the association industry.
