Pros

There are some really, really good people working here. I'm also able to work from home a lot and it saves me from commuting. There is some training available for free and a huge increase in budget for purchasing new equipment.

Cons

Our new CIO is a clueless liar and I think he sits around trying to come up with new ideas on how to demoralize the workforce. There is a video on YouTube of him gleefully telling a story about lying to the IT group and he even tells more little lies throughout that story. Unfortunately, he was just one of eight new senior leadership positions filled straight from Microsoft and all of them are similar in that they will tell you one thing to your face and do something else behind your back. If you happen to bring up anything contrary or negative, you'll be silenced, ignored, or personally attacked. Lastly, the new leadership has picked up the pace of work even more and it's really getting crazy. Salaried employees work 50-60 hours on average and have on-call duties too. Upper management here flat sucks but the Microsoft mafia is so strong that nobody can fight it.

Pros

Meaningful work and a schedule that supports an actual work/life balance, despite leadership's efforts to undermine both.

Cons

So-called merit raises of 1% to 3% are assigned at the whim of your core-leader. The result of this is that the longer you stay in your position, the further behind you will fall.
