I worked at Providence Health & Services full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Good pay and benefits as well as staff education opportunities.

Cons

Inconsistent scheduling especially for night shift employees. Strong staff hierarchy as well as lack of desire to do functions outside of perceived "rank."

Advice to Management

Discourage the, "I am a RN therefor I am above basic tasks." An effective hospital is one where everyone conducts tasks to the highest level they are trained and all those below as they are needed without being resentful.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Providence Health & Services part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, average pay, good company morals, expanding hospital branch. Committed to employees, good mission statement and morals. Difficult to achieve upward mobility on internal transfers.

    Cons

Pay is competitive. Difficult to achieve a promotion. Benefits are good if you work full time. If you are per diem you are basically on your own. Overall management of company finances and priorities has seemed questionable.

    Advice to Management

Need to pay their employees better, therefore satisfying the healthcare workers and in turn creating better patient care which will create better patient satisfaction and therefore a better overall rating of the hospital instead of underpaying employees, paying for elaborate expensive decorations and running into a financial wall on the budget when trying to expand.
