Positive Outlook

I have been working at Prudential full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Prudential has many business opportunities within its US Businesses. Commitment to diversity, innovation, development and work life balance is apparent throughout all of them.

Cons

Much like all companies benefits are a huge investment from the employer. Prudential takes benefits seriously and has put together a competitive package for its employees. However, benefits are costly.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Leadership is mostly transparent to all levels of employees. Strategy is clear and communication is solid. Leaders of people are encouraged to continually develop their leadership skills. These are the makings of a good company to work for.

    I worked at Prudential full-time

    Pros

    Excellent co-workers
    Great pay
Great Benefits and commitment to diversity
Strong leadership in other business lines
A company that genuinely tries to do the right thing always

    Cons

Customer office is one of the business lines in Prudential. While it boasts about being a startup within prudential, it is far from it. Leadership is really bad right from the Chief Customer Officer to most of his direct reports. It is very top down and a very chaotic environment where direction keep changing by the minute. Employees are just told what to do as opposed to using their skills to get things done. There is a lot of micro management going on and no work life balance. Prudential sees the results from this organization, but has no clue on how it gets done and managed within.

    Advice to Management

Set employees up for success based on their strengths and give them the freedom to excel in what they do instead of micro managing. The organization has grown considerably, but no sign of maturity. There is a lot of built up frustration amongst good employees who will eventually move on.

    Pros

Lots of helpful people, work environment is professional.
Lots of new things to learn from the meetings and trainings held.
    Good opportunity for retired people.

    Cons

Very sales oriented job, it's one's own business no fixed salary, commissions are the only source of income.
Not a fit for young people with higher degrees
