Pros

Great training when hired and ongoing
Smart and respectful coworkers
Above average benefits
Management in some departments
Good amount of feedback provided

Cons

Below average pay
Management in some departments
Many changes that were not explained well to employees
Some people only care about them

Advice to Management

Remember that the entry level employees are the ones talking to most of your clients. No pay raises, no bonuses, longer work week, taking away benefits, and closing an office is not a way to show employees that the company is a good solid long term career.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Putnam since it's infusion of new leadership has plenty of opportunities, if there was ever a chance to do something unique or innovative it's now. The people there are nice and the politics are less then typical.

    Cons

All decisions are based on keeping your job, so at a time when Putnam should be taking risks to make an impact in the financial field, senior management runs around looking to move the bar only as far as Bob Reynolds can imagine. The atmosphere is too quiet you get the impression that no one wants to be noticed. Loose the ties...

    Advice to Management

    Hey Bob,

Set aside your ego and see what motivates your senior management team. It's not innovation or a new spirit, it's fear. It'll take more then just your vision to change Putnam, don't be a fool tap into the good resources that can move the company in the right direction.
