Pros

The network of professionals at PwC is second to none. There is always someone with tremendous knowledge of any subject just a phone call away.

Cons

Difficult hours are the norm (as with many professional service firms). Sometimes the performance review process is onerous and difficult to get through.

Advice to Management

I think it is important to get out ahead of changing economic conditions. When reviews are only conducted once a year (and based on the prior year's performance of the firm), it often seems like the firm is lagging up to 2 years behind current conditions. The job market in my specialty has improved significantly, recruiters are actively looking for candidates, but the PwC raises/bonuses are based on prior year performance that wasn't stellar.

    Pros

Place opens a lot of doors, it will get you a great job next. The training is pretty good. Will make a lot of friends

    Cons

Work is not exciting. Hours are very long. Culture of working for the sake of working but acting like work/life balance is important.

    Advice to Management

When you work your employees this way it drives off the ones who can’t hang which is good, but it also pushes away the ambitious and natural leaders who can easily get jobs. What you are left with is something in the middle. The goal should not be to promote those who seem able to withstand the most misery.

    Pros

Well known and well liked by all, good support system, great learning experience for new hires, excellent work life balance

    Cons

Must know how to work the system, needs to give better guidance to resources about how qualitative metrics used to judge performance, does not have the reputation of other consulting firms when it comes to advisory
