I have been working at PwC full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great people, good advisory opportunities and travel projects available to those interested. With 2+ years of experience I've encountered many great project leads but as always, there is the odd director here and there that may have a different approach then you would normally recommend.

Opportunities for complex and interesting projects more then make up for work life balance challenges.

Cons

Projects and travel can be challenging to sustain work life balance.

I worked at PwC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Some very smart people who do care about doing good work - find them, and work however you can for them.
    - Brand still means something - and management consulting is an interesting space to be in.
    - The variety in consulting work is fascinating

    Cons

    - VERY political atmosphere. It's about who you know.
    - Utilization matters more than if you're a consistently good performer. I was laid off because there wasn't enough 'work for me to do', but had no visibility into sales cycle.
    - Travel and more travel.

    Advice to Management

If you say you're not an 'up or out' company, then mean it. Culture is progressive in some areas, but lots of management that doesn't really care if you work hard.

    Pros

Great brand name for your resume
Have exposure to the different industries
    Smart coworkers

    Cons

You are as good as who supports you. You need to know people to get on a project with high profile clients. You might be stuck on boring projects. Long hours and low pay.
