Pros

Excellent exposure to client business issues and challenging assignments. Ability to move internationally and domestically with plenty of upward potential.

Cons

Current pay and benefits are less than what one could get in industry. Current levels of admissions to the partnership are low with not realy growth anticipated in the near term.

Advice to Management

Look after top performers and ensure that the leaders are focused on long term share value growth as oppose to short term goals.

    Pros

There are a lot of opportunities for advancement at PwC. The salary and benefits are competitive with other public accounting/ consulting firms.

    Cons

Senior management propagates a message of work-life balance but very seldom did I see any regard for work-life balance in practice.

    Advice to Management

The technical skills that staff develops at the lower ranks are not necessarily the skills that will propel them to the higher ranks. PwC needs to invest more time in developing the soft skills and other non technical skills necessary to achieve success at the higher ranks.

    Pros

There is undoubtedly huge value in working for PwC in what it does for your resume. It opens up a lot of doors for you, and you'll get fantastic experience along the way.

    Cons

Work life balance is not a consideration for the firm. It's talked about, but not acted upon. This should not be an expectation on working for PwC, but then there are lots of other things that it has to offer instead. Don't expect any pats on the back - that's not in the culture of the Big 4.

    Advice to Management

Advice would be to just offer more encouragement to more junior staff. There is a culture of negative feedback only, and in this environment it is hardly surprising that morale dips so easily.
