Pros

Benefit package, primarily the retirement package was outstanding.

Cons

Upper Management appears content with status quo and resting on past sucess.

Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to your competitors and relaize that they are gaining marketshare with a percentage coming from your existing user base. The cost to switch per claim in not competive to the marketplace. When pharmacies are gauging cost they are looking at total cost. Software maint. is higher than average. Many of the independants view their pharmacy system as equal to the others on the marketplace and the primary interest in changing vendors is based on total cost of ownership.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

This company is on fire after the hiring of it's new parent corporation CEO and the subsequent hiring of a new president at QS/1. Things are moving and changing at break neck speed that is needed and very exciting.

    Cons

Many things have to be overcome after many years of stagnation.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    I worked at QS/1 full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company car means no more car payment. Great customer base makes for excellent referrals when it comes time to leave. Traveling service technician provides lots of site seeing opportunities but pack your own lunch because the reimbursement policy is severely lacking.

Overall not the worse place to work if you want to get IT experience, albeit last decade's tech. Do you're job, make some good contacts and then move on.

    Cons

Major disconnect between the "Good Ol' Boys" down south and the rest of the developed world. This is a company stuck in the past that likes to relive the glory days when they were cutting edge. News flash, things have changed a lot in technology since the mid 70's.

No chance for advancement unless you work in the corporate office and even then it comes down to knowing the right people rather than the right skills. Too many people in positions that shouldn't be and who'd be out of a job in the real world. Suggestions to improve customer service or make processes more efficient are considered heresy. Know your place and just do your job. Again, this is a place to get experience and references for your next job.

    Advice to Management

To senior management: it's time to step down. Yes, you wrote the code that made the company what it was but that doesn't mean you have the needed business sense to run a competitive technology company.
