Pros

The compensation and benefits are very competitive. The overall atmosphere is professional.

Cons

Advancement within the company is limited. Many of the senior positions are held by ex military officers and when those positions open up, they are almost always filled by other retiring military.

Advice to Management

Continue to remember to take care of the work force and they will take care of you.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

If you're dedicated and hardheaded enough, you can make a real difference in projects that are important for national security. The pay and benefits are good, and I have never had trouble getting time off.

    Cons

The lower management structure is very flat and there is little opportunity for career or professional growth. For a company so focused on technical work, one would expect managers to have more respect for their scientific and engineering employees. There is no career track for technical professionals. To advance, one must go into management.

QNA is a large, new conglomerate composed of many legacy companies that have little in common besides doing technical contracting for the government, so conditions probably vary greatly from one division to another.

    Advice to Management

Ask your working-level engineers how they think their divisions are being run. Don't put too much trust in what your managers and VPs are telling you about morale. Get your engineers talking to each other across divisional lines - there is a tremendous amount of talent that is being wasted due to lack of local opportunities.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Lots of bright talented staff, encouraging technology leadership, nice work environment, interesting projects time to time, good interaction with most staff

    Cons

Leadership is based on patronage, limited mobility and severe pigeon holing. Collection of thoughts no strategic direction, misguided priorities, self-serving, no effective cross ocean collaboration, narrow view point on all things new, wilting on the vine as not competitive in the thinking department

    Advice to Management

BOD should be more active and not be bamboozled by ex-government policy makers in faux leadership roles who can't find the toilet alone and look at getting some real talent in management roles
