I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Employees work on a wide range of cutting-edge technologies and are able to learn many exciting skills if they want to learn. Due to explosion of mobile industry, there are many opportunities in the company and it has grow more than 50% over past few years

    Cons

Long hours and lack of work-life balance. The industry is super competitive and company/departments need to work very hard to develop new technologies and maintain existing ones. Late night and weekend work is quite common in most departments. Salary is not competitive compare to other large companies in the industry, so many good people left to join companies like Apple, Amazon, etc. There are still many dead woods in the firm and don't seem to contribute much to company's bottom line, except creating more meetings for people around them.

    Advice to Management

Cut off more dead woods and provide better compensation to keep people motivated and recruit/retain good people.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great management structure, supportive of innovation, provides all the resources you need to be successful, smartest coworkers I've ever had. It's a group of really smart people doing work they love with pretty much all of the resources they ask for.

    Cons

Can be high pressure, with long hours close to deadlines. Male dominated, and most of the men have stay at home wives, so being a single female who doesn't have someone to do the support stuff at home, it can get exhausting.
