I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Good pay, great benefits, amazing intern community. You get to see a lot of cool things happening behind the scenes of the latest phones. The technology is great.

Cons

Asked my manager and mentor for something to do every day. Barely got any work to do. Had a great summer, just wished that I could use my skills better.

Advice to Management

Give interns jobs because there is something to do. Don't make work for interns after they arrive.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    For interns:

    - Great intern activities both at work and outside of work
    - Good work life balance
    - Projects: they don't expect a lot from interns, but if you demonstrate to them that you can be trusted with more responsibility, they'll give it to you.
    - Pay is competitive
    - Housing and relocation is paid for
    - Good chance of getting a return offer if you do a good job.

    Cons

I imagine that it takes a little time to move up here. This might not be a big deal to some people.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. You can probably push your interns a little harder.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Boulder does not have a high cost of living yet employees get similar salaries and perks as compared to San diego. Lots of stuff to do at Boulder.

    Cons

Hard work and overtime hours put in not appreciated, criticism heavy.
Employees usually leave by 5 or 6, but at times can be working late and round the clock.
San diego is given preference, feeling of being at a branch of a major company palpable.
    Cafeteria not great.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees more, don't judge on results, see how much effort and time they've put in.
