Pros

Word of mouth on Qualcomm is great. The pay, bonuses, benefits, etc., are all great while it lasts. Emphasis on "while it lasts". Technology moves quick, and as soon as your department is not a part of the company's future plans, that's a wrap for you.

Cons

The key to Qualcomm is never winding up in a division that isn't in the company's future. As soon as that occurs, Qualcomm will prevent you from interviewing for other divisions, and sell you off like knick knacks at a flea market to the first buyer that comes along. For a company that has a reputation for valuing employees, turns out they do all the same things everyone else does. I guess there's no loyalty anywhere anymore.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At Qualcomm, we get to work on some of the pressing problems in the wireless / mobile industry. Whether it's advancing LTE or building augmented reality software, you are at the forefront of the industry.

    Cons

Many of initiatives are limited or structured around QCOM's key businesses: patent licensing and selling mobile chips. Software programs are unfortunately handicapped by this approach - building a highly differentiated experience with software that works only on Qualcomm chips while remaining interoperable with other chipmakers is a constant challenge.
