I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Every intern is paired up with a manager and a mentor who advise you on your project. You have tons of resources at your disposal, including other interns and employees who you can talk to if you have questions. I had a couple situations where I sent an email over a mailing list and had high level managers and engineers jumping in to help out.

The intern events are great and I really enjoyed them, although the interns who worked at Qualcomm last year said that they appeared to be cutting back. The location in San Diego is fantastic and Qualcomm does an excellent job with relocation and housing assistance.

Cons

Some of the other interns had trouble meeting with their managers and mentors because they were so busy. Also, lots of time is spend in meetings and exchanging email, rather than working on projects.

I worked at Qualcomm full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company morale is high on an overall basis. Good culture of collaboration and sharing overall. Great insurance and great benefits package as a whole.

    Cons

Not a lot of room to move to other groups, regardless of the IOS system. Rely to heavily on the past rather than really focusing on change. I'm not talking about the technology, but about attitudes in groups. Not a lot of direction from CIO. He's strategic, but isn't paying attention to the real issues in IT.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. When something is wrong, deal with it... don't just put in another manager to pretend to solve it. All this does is camouflage the issues... it doesn't fix them. Pay attention to the good people that leave. There's a reason someone leaves a company like Qualcomm.
