Disapproves of CEO

Pros

The location is ideal, very talented and fun co-workers, the compensation and benefits are comparable if a little on the low side to similar companies.

Cons

Communication within the company is not executed well, the products are struggling, quality control issues preventing sales from closing. There are too many mid-level managers and "processes" just get in the way of getting things done. Too much time is focused on things that are not important. The company needs to spend more time working on making sure their products work correctly and promoting product to end users.

Advice to Management

Take care of your people better, make this a better place to work with more of a work/life balance.

    Pros

Hardware is generally a more stable sector within IT. My colleagues were smart, friendly people to work with. Several products were particularly fun to work on, sophisticated technology. My department had a good mix of talent and experience; there was always someone who could help you out with a quirky tool or intractable problem.

    Cons

Poor 'trickle-down' communication from executive/upper management. Project schedules delayed and not well managed to come in on time. Lacked strong corporate leadership to encourage cooperation across the company. They should be more supportive of employees commuting by light rail (subsidize Eco-Pass and corporate shuttle to/from LR to the Quantum building).

    Advice to Management

Improve corporate communication within the company. Improve the product mix and project schedules to strategically improve time-to-market.
