Pros

Pays good. Good local team. Can take on additional challenges outside of existing job, letting you do different things and learn more.

Cons

It's noisy and can be dirty at times. Advancement can take a long time as people stay in their jobs a long time.

Advice to Management

Innovate and build relationships with clients rather than trying to compete using price.

    Pros

You always find some charming people to work with.

    Cons

It's a unionized environement, therefore, low performers are protected and top performers are ignored. There's always this very negative atmosphere due to the fact that "it's the unionized employees AGAINST the management" and everything is a battle and a grievance. The company cannot properly function in a competitive world, and very demanding clients with an old, very restrictive collective agreement.

Oh and not to mention that the company is suing the union for 40Millions and the trial will start in september 2008. The collective agreement is due in 2009, and everyone is worried about a second strike, considering how far the parties are in terms of negotiation ie they were not even able to agree on a common agenda for a 1st round of discussion.

There are better companies to work for out there. Think twice before joining this company. You will b working in a very poor work environement (dirty, old, used working space), you will always be asked to do more without being compensated, (working evenings and week-end) always without recognition ; will have very little decision power due to the micro-managment culture and a very powerful union, and work in a very negative an insecure environment due to the upcoming strike. Hopefully you love french, because no one speaks english there, and the french police will be called if you write or talk in english. Think twice is my advice.

    Advice to Management

Change the Senior Management team. Get fresh blood in... and while you're at it, how about selecting bilingual candidates, that care about the growing english community in Quebec... and can UNDERSTAND what happens in the rest of the country and the entire telecom World.
