Pros

The benefits are good and the T.O.P. is very good I was collecting 16 hours a month for vacation/sick time. he end of the years they would pay out what was not used.

Cons

There is little help from peers with processing specimens, doing blood draws ect..No support from peers there were many days that you felt like you were walking on egg shells.

    Cons

The upper management has no clue/ no direction /no plan.It is by far the worst company i have ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

The management needs to get insight in to the future and work towards the same goal. The management is absolutely clueless of what they are supposed to do in any given situation

I worked at Quest Diagnostics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very large company with opportunities for upward movement, if you are good at politics, and can talk your way through a spreadsheet; sprinkle in some six sigma principles to cover up mistakes - results are measured through likability, and NOT accountability.

Sales driven environment, but be careful with comps, as they are often decreased to make up for regional losses....

    Cons

Operations is a chase after your own tail environment; Chaotic, Erratic, Drama field, which is extremely disorganized, and reflects on the quality of patient care and service.

Still managed from the Top down (zero leadership or accountability) at the exempt levels - non-exempts work more with less, as there are too many subsideries to effectively support in an 8 hour day (if you are lucky to work an 8 hour day), Fear of reprisal is deeply imbedded and encouraged to influence production. Benefits are rapidly changing to make up for poor financial forecasting, attrition, and lack of reimbursement from United Health Care.

    Advice to Management

Once again, clean house at the L3, L4 and L5 position's, and make sure you DO NOT hire the same people this time - they have NOT produced for well over a decade.... CEO and COO has verbally implemented change with NEW idea's, but retaining the OLD regime has killed the messenger - the industrial age is over - get rid of the dead wood, and bring in NEW Leader's !!!
