I worked at R.R. Donnelley full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

I met a lot of nice people there, some of whom I am still friends with.

Cons

Starting with shift supervisors and on up to upper management they do not care about the employees.

Advice to Management

Dont just take the word of local management. Talk to the employees out on the floor about how things are. When supervisors and managers won't listen to the skilled operators on what is needed things do not get done properly or safely.

I have been working at R.R. Donnelley full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I am still happy to hve a job!

    Cons

The longer I am part of this company our benefits have dwindled to almost nothing. We were added to RRDonelly through acquisition, not our preference, our insurance is horrible and expensive, we had 401k match suspended, you have to jump through alot of hoops to get a cost of living raise if you are kiss enough butt to get one, but I am sure our upper management will get their raises and bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Do your job. If a part of the business is failing, cut ties and sell it, someone else may be able to turn it around!

I have been working at R.R. Donnelley full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company has been a relatively stable employer for the community. The company has been good in enabling a family to have medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. The company enables a family to live comfortably.

    Cons

The factory work is physically demanding and summers can be quite hot indoors. During the last few years, the hours are slow the first half of the year leading to layoffs, yet the last six months can be heavy with required overtime.

    Advice to Management

Due to an aging workforce, upgrades are needed to reduce the physically demanding work.
