I have been working at R.R. Donnelley full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good promotional structure in the offices. Plenty of opportunity for advancement (in the offices). Great pay. Decent benefits for families (not individuals).

Cons

Office politics that aren't any different in another company.

Advice to Management

Keep promoting from within.

I have been working at R.R. Donnelley full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    -Flexible work schedule
    -Telecommuting options
    -Pockets of good mid-level managers

    Cons

-Company notoriously pays between 0 to 2.5% raises over the last several years. 2013 was 1% increase across the board. 2012 was 0% increase across the board. I can't wait for this year!! <sarcasm>
-Upper level management fails to convey future planning to employees. It seems like the employee is kept in the dark about most subjects and are never included in discussions about the future of the company. Unless the employee is part of some clique, it is nearly impossible to get an idea on where the company is headed.

    Advice to Management

    NUTS!

I worked at R.R. Donnelley full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The facility that you work in will make or break your experience at RRD. If you have a good Plant Manager, who looks out for the employees, and shields them from all of the Corp crap, it's a good place to work. If you aren't lucky to have a good Plant Manager it can be pretty miserable.

    Cons

Raises are small, cost of living type, so if you work hard there is little additional compensation. Often times there isn't any upward mobility, because management rarely leaves, and when they do they often times don't fill those positions.

    Advice to Management

Let the local Plant Manager(s) have more control over their facilities, the more freedom they have the better the facility will run.
