I worked at RAPP full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

The benefits are great, the agency side is domimant so expect more accolades on that side. Great Location beneftis--specialty coffees, .25 soft drinks, holiday treats

Cons

Technology has bad management. Can't keep good people because of the bad managemetn decisions. Controlled by the client instead of a consultant to the client

Advice to Management

Worry less about the 'fun' in the ofice and try to boost morale by creating good work situations.

I worked at RAPP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great sense of community although now and then it seems kind of forced... that's about it. The creative people there are incredibly talented, but they get frustrated and leave soon after working there by the cons below.

    Cons

    - Management ineptness is rampant and decisions are never properly made.
    - Too many chefs in the kitchen but no food ever get's made. I experienced "Analysis paralysis" while I was there.
    - They don't listen to their people, instead they only say yes to the client even though much of what they say yes to is impossible to achieve.

    Advice to Management

instead of working hard try working smart.

I have been working at RAPP full-time

    Pros

Fosters a good sense of community, tries hard

    Cons

-Incredibly fractured disciplines and too many departments. Too many opinions and leaders with few owners or producers of work. Also leads to very little contact with you department so no one is getting better at their job.

-Significant amount of time is spent by upper management preaching their visions for RAPP. These changing articulations don't translate into the skill sets of the agency with any consistency and are filled with the buzz words de jour.

-As an agency, tries to do too many things and so is good at none of them. We're in a perpetual state of dabbling in solutions but haven't nailed down the basics.
