Pros

Excellent Place to Work. Lots of opportunity for advancement if you prove yourself in current role. Available training for career shifting or re-allignment of skills.

Cons

Difficult to "manage out" problem employees. The company makes it difficult to remove problem employees bu giving them TOO much athority within the structure.

Advice to Management

Continue to look for innovative ways to improve processes. Just because we are in a old financial institution does not mean improvements can not be made with technology.

    Pros

The work load is not as much as other banks, however, they keep the number of employees at a branck at a skeleton.

    Cons

It is very difficult to get into the inner core. One feels like an outsider for a very long time. Training is not thorough and product knowledge is not indepth. Turn over is very high and the help line is always busy.

    Advice to Management

Look for ways to keep good employees. Stop favoring some employees to others. Treat them equally.
Employee review is not taken seriously. Please give raises at least once a year.

    Pros

Small firm feel with large firm resources. Dedicated, knowledgeable back office staff. 'Can Do' culture. Senior management is accessible and keeps staff informed of firm performance, major decisions.

    Cons

The firm underwent a major (and costly) systems conversion in 2008. The 'new' system never lived up to the hype, and was widely recognized as a step backwards shortly after conversion. It was an insult to the hard-working and dedicated staff. The conversion was driven by cost savings. 'You get what you pay for.'

    Salaries are not competetive.

    Advice to Management

If you seriously want to compete with the big boys, spend some money on a competitive system. Otherwise, be content to perennial second stringer.
