"RGP strong on core services but not sustainable as employee on peripheral services"

    Pros

RGP has a strong foundation and messaging around financial services, audit & compliance to keep highly qualified consultants in these areas engaged with clients.

    Cons

Work in other peripheral functions, such as project management and information management, can be inconsistent in some offices, particularly in times where RGP chooses to focus on its core offerings.

I worked at RGP full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People "in the trenches" are great (client service directors, recruiters and consultants)! They work hard and try and do the right thing most of the time.

    Cons

There does not appear to be one person in senior management who knows how to run a business. No strategy for growth, or at least none that is communicated. They seem to be grasping at straws and investing in things outside the core business. They continually latch on to some regulatory /accounting issue as the next rainmaking event without a clue as to what the true impact will be. No investment in what is already proven to be successful. Almost impossible to hire the experience they need in the field because pay is completely out of line with reality. Seem to think its such a great place to work that people should want to take a $100k paycut! Raises in the trenches are rare but the executives seem to continue to get increases in their bonuses. I heard once that the CEO said at an internal meeting "I could fire everyone today and hire their replacements tomorrow for less"... That speaks volumes!

    Advice to Management

Put your huge egos to the side and bring in people who have experience actually growing a business. People with the ability to set a strategy and can get everyone behind them and will work outside the bubble you currently work in.
