Pros

The management team is awesome!

Cons

As with most consulting firms, working at client sites will make connecting to the company culture (which is among the best) somewhat of a challenge.

    Pros

From applying to hiring to being on client site, the RGS leadership and team fell nothing short of spectacular. For those looking to develop professionally, the training opportunities and resources are unlimited. RGS internal communications are robust as workplace transparency is legitimately embraced. The division directors are experts in their field and provide RGSers with unlimited support and mentorship.

    Cons

Compensation may be lower than larger consulting firms

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, I am very grateful for experiencing the RGS life.

I worked at RGS Associates full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The RGS executive leadership is second to none. They foster not only strong professional relationships, but personal ones as well. They have an open-door management policy where every employee should feel comfortable speaking directly with the President or Vice President if needed and can build relationships with them and their families outside of the office. They have a very unique open-book policy where employees are invited to learn the nuts-and-bolts of how the company is run. They encourage professional development and are eager to invest in their employees who want to pursue new training and certifications.

    Cons

RGS' margins don't allow for a lot of overhead so there is minimal bench time (i.e., a couple days) for employees who's contract is lost - a lot of good talent has gone out the door because of this. In my opinion, compensation is probably 8-10% less than market value. Decisions to save a few dollars (non billable all-hands meetings, employees' burden to make up hours or use PTO for government closures) seem cheap and small-timey to employees.

    Advice to Management

I always appreciated - and still do - the relationships I was able to build with the management team; continue to develop similar relationship with the employees whenever possible. Try to find more opportunities to retain talent if a contract is lost and there is no obvious landing spot immediately identifiable.
