I have been working at RSM full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Ever since McGladrey bought back the consulting business from H&R Block, they have been making some major changes on how to operate and they have been growing non-stop. Consulting, unlike Audit and Tax, has an extremely low turn-over. Hours are very reasonable and the people, that's what makes it. The consulting group has some of the most energetic, bright, and passionate people in the business.

-Very bright and passionate co workers. People here are very intelligent and superiors are always very helpful, especially to new hires.
- Upper management is very transparent about issues and events
- Consulting is very laid back, working approx 35-40 hours a week and very low turnover.
- Opportunity to work in various industries and meet many people
- Great work/life balance
- Bonuses are great

Cons

- Being on the bench can be boring
- Salary isn't as high as other smaller firms

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing!

    Pros

Work life balance and Great people

    Cons

Cons are compensation and brand recognition

    Advice to Management

anagement should work on branding the firm so it’s a recognized nationally. Also, it needs to stop comparing itself to Big 4. They don’t compete in the same market place as we do.

I have been working at RSM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Do not work as late of hours as the big 4 with relatively comparable pay and benefits. My co workers are my friends and we create the office culture.

    Cons

It is like any public accounting firms where you can expect to work long hours during busy season. It is too concentrated in the midwest. Needs to make the name more known in the east and west.

    Advice to Management

Need better recruitment processes to differentiate between the big 4. Also need to look at what opportunities and benefits the big 4 bring to the table that MG can implement.
