I have been working at Rackspace full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Great benefits and a SLT group that cares about the culture. Benefits are close to those that you'd expect in silicon valley but right here in San Antonio. Great opportunity for growth and a chance to be a part of great IT.

Cons

It's a smaller company that's getting big fast. There are some growth pains but they are being fixed.

Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing!

I have been working at Rackspace full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The culture is by far the best part of Rackspace. There are a ton of opportunities for personal and professional development and training. Everyone has a wonderful attitude and enjoys coming to work. The pay is great and the benefits are unbeatable.

    Cons

Pay can be higher elsewhere, but the benefits and environment make up for it. Sometimes getting into training classes can be difficult due to the popularity of a particular class, but they are always adding more slots.

    Advice to Management

Some of the upper management seems a bit disconnected from the general population, but I suppose in a company of 4000+ it's inevitable.

I have been working at Rackspace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love coming to work every day.
Able to work with bleeding edge technology.
Working on problems no one else has faced.
    Great relaxed environment

    Cons

Politics are quite heavy especially when looking for a raise/promotion.
The environment can be quite loud making it difficult to concentrate.
Don't keep up with the rest of the industry on pay scale.

    Advice to Management

Pay more to keep you talent.
Have more attractive offices to attract the better talent (Austin, LA, SF, Seattle, etc)
