Current Employee - Sales Associate - Part Time in Seattle, WA
Current Employee - Sales Associate - Part Time in Seattle, WA

I have been working at RadioShack part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Opportunity to learn technology, sales, and how to talk to customers. Company is really making the move to mobile phones.

Cons

SPIFFS are too low, asking customers for "add ons" like batteries is most of the time pointless

Advice to Management

Get the right in store managers and give them room to be promoted.

I have been working at RadioShack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good for students and part-timers who are looking for an active workplace.

    Cons

Poor pay. No bump in pay even if you work there for 5 years. Its up to you to sell cellphones and make commission. No other way to increase your paycheck. Only if you get promoted to manager will you make more money and have a bonus. Even then, room for growth is only by becoming a manager. No other way to get promoted no matter how good you are at your job. When they do have a manager position open, they will hire someone from outside the company that has no experience in slaes or electronics rather than promoting from within.

    Advice to Management

You focus on a complete sales solution, but you don't focus on keeping you employees happy. There is no reason for an employee to stay under your employment for more than a couple of years at most unless they have no ambition.
