I have been working at RadioShack part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Supervisor flexible with my hours. I'm going to school and have to use public bus system to school and work. My employer works with me to give me afternoon shifts and I'm off on weekends due to limited bus schedule.

    Cons

    -Useless and mandated training.
-Management have no problem telling you your sales are low and will threaten your job. This encourages dog-eat-dog. Other employees will literally take sales away from you when you are ringing up a customer even when commissions 2% and that's not worth fighting for.
-If you complain to management about other employee "stealing sales" they will tell you it's about the customer and not about making the sale.

    Advice to Management

-Management should treat their employees with respect and not show favoritism to an employee who makes high sales. If anything they should the under-sales employee. Maybe because this company is folding soon, it seems management doesn't care. I just need a job to put me through school but can't see why people stay with this company long term. There's no incentive for advancement. I only make 8.50/hr in the socal region store with 2% sales commission. With big box stores like Frys and Best Buy we get maybe 5 customers on my shift from 1p-9p. Apparently, management does not listen to advice here on glassdoor thus shutting their doors for good.
