I worked at RadioShack full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A paycheck, that's about it. My particular store manager was excellent. In fact, most managers are the store level were. But, there were managers that were promoted to the district level that would brag about how many long-time managers they fired and how much money they saved.

    Cons

Everything else. Bad management was rife and mountains of #### flowed from on high. Angry, belligerent, un-educated managers were often promoted. (Seriously, some of these people could not spell or use words correctly. A few of them had problems reading.) Low pay, long hours, inflexible structure, schizophrenic upper management, low morale, worthless benefits, high expectations. Often, people would come in looking for things that RadioShack used to carry only to leave disappointed. Nothing more than a bloated mess of a mobile phone store.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Run. Let someone else clean up your mess. For the next set of executives, go back to your roots. Cut some stores, stock more parts, get back to the DIY feel. More Home Depot, less Best Buy.
