I worked at RadioShack full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - great people to work with
    - not a heavy traffic store
    - encourage you to try out products

radioshack is a good company if you're interested in how to be a salesman and/or have a love of cell phones. I learned so many things there from what a diode is to how to set up many of my electronics. Your bosses will become your friends and they're really good people. You learn how to talk to people and become very appealing and convincing. You have to sell to make your money because minimum wage just won't cut it.

    Cons

    - terrible upper management
    - micromanage the managers
    - changes their focus every month
    - talks about the "foundations" yet, do not have any
    - managers are required to work 48+ hours

The upper management requires too much out of you. When you work 12 hour days between 4-6 days a week you get burnt out. They never tell you what you're doing well in your store, only what could be improved. I loved working for them when I was a part timer just graduating high school. I really did learn a lot of good things from them. They also become very hypocritical. I ended up leaving from so much stress from the district and regional managers and they're wishy washy plans on what needed to be done.

    Advice to Management

Your managers can't work 50+ hours every week.

    Pros

nothing, at-will employer who does not keep their word when exploring other job opportunities

    Cons

401k was horrible, health insurance gave you a false sense of security

    Advice to Management

run don't walk to get out while you can.
