Pros

- Smart, driven co-workers who bring 110% to the table and push you to be your best - Compelling mission in a sector that offers life-changing outcomes for user - Initial product well-designed and engaging

Cons

- Everything the previous reviewer wrote about management issues holding back stability, and the detrimental effect of having no professional HR support, I witnessed and experienced as well; leadership is dysfunctional and highly political - This results in an incredible amount of turnover, throughout all departments within the organization, at remarkable frequency even considering this is a start-up - Lack of user-listening: RaiseMe purports to support low-income and first-generation students who want to go to college, but those cohorts are an after thought in product development and business focus - Much lip service paid to company values and diversity initiatives that always seem to be "in development" and "coming," but never result in goals and action items that hold the company accountable - None of these points will be news to anyone in management reading these reviews, employees have repeatedly shared this feedback only to have their concerns challenged or minimized, with a loose promise that change is coming

Pros

Everyone at RaiseMe is working here due to their genuine conviction for our product and what it is doing to transform student attitudes towards college attainment and affordability. There's a lot of chatter in SF/Silicon Valley about how various tech companies are doing "transformative" work, but RaiseMe is a rare case in which we get to see our users actually experience life-changing results by using our platform, on a daily basis. There's a clear move fast/think big mentality here, which coupled with an extremely bright and driven team, makes RaiseMe an exciting workplace for those looking to get their hands dirty and make a real impact. Employee are afforded high levels of autonomy at the IC level but also many co-collaborators with whom to brainstorm/trade creative concepts and get things done quickly. Leadership is extremely accessible and open to hearing the ideas of the team. On top of that, the office dog to human ratio is extremely favorable and makes the office environment super inviting!

Cons

Company is still growing , so many processes are still being written as we go. However, there is a high level of foresight and scrutiny with regards to scaling the company responsibly - no stone is left unturned and employee feedback is regularly solicited.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely feel that our incredible team is the heart of our work, and what makes it possible to pursue our mission. It’s true that in a startup environment, we’re sometimes writing (& re-writing!) processes as we grow and our team scales. Our team’s feedback makes it possible to adjust course quickly — so we appreciate your advice, and will continue to regularly seek input from our employees. We hope you’ll continue to share additional thoughts with myself and/or your manager throughout your time here at RaiseMe.
