I have been working at Ralph Lauren part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great discounts for employees, very flexible schedule and management interacts a lot with associates. The breaks are pretty good two. Even if you work a 4 hour shift you get a paid 15 minute break..on a regular 8 hour shift you get an unpaid hour lunch break and two 15 minute paid breaks and the starting pay is pretty nice.

    Cons

No chances of moving up, on my first interview one of the managers made it very clear that it takes a lot of years to get to management. Hours not guaranteed, you can go a whole week without working because they cut your hours (it also depends your availability, if your availability is smaller and you have smaller shifts then it will happen more often) Working there on Thanksgiving and Black Friday is a must, and its EXTREMELY busy..they make over a million dollars in one day. Management puts this EXTREME amount of pressure on you when it comes to customer service, the store could be a mess but they rather have you walking around talking to customers. They have a rule that you are suppose to check up on each customer every 2 minutes..imagine how fed up they get..but you don't have another option! Some managers are nice, must are sucked up. Oh and unless you work full time (which they barely hire) you get no benefits other than the clothes discount BUT DONT GET ME WRONG, FOR A PART TIME JOB IF YOURE IN HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE, IS NOT BAD.

    Advice to Management

You're in your mid 30's working at a clothing store at the mall.. there's no need for you to be stucked up and look down to sales associate's.
