I worked at Ralph Lauren full-time (More than a year)

Pros

- don't have to dress in ralph lauren
- great discount
- managers are awesome
- good communication
- great training
- fun environment

Cons

- super catty, older professionals aren't nice to younger ones because they think too highly of themselves. Also people are constatnly talking behind eachother's backs
- commission makes everything crummy
- it's retail, so it obviously gets tedious

Advice to Management

nada, keep doing what you're doing. your employees love you :)

    Pros

the people you work with are good. they are very helpful and convey the mission of the company well. the hours were flexible

    Cons

lack of hours means you can't make much money. they gave me less than 20 hours a week when i wanted close to full time. they don't spend much time during the training process either.

I have been working at Ralph Lauren part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They hire you back during school breaks and Summer.

    Cons

They separate the sales associates with other titles: Sellers & Workers
The associates who are considered the workers do all the physical work e.g., folding, cleaning the sales floor plus the bathrooms, sellers just walk around and sell thats all that's expected/wanted of them. They are put at a higher level than the other associates. So unfair, everyone should be treated the same. Raises are so low if you even get one. (13 Cents is nothing to brag about) All you ever hear from Management is to sell, sell, & sell some more so that they will get a bonus.

    Advice to Management

Stop showing favoritism to a select few. On an average all the associates work hard and they should all be treated equally. Stop changing the store policies (number of hours you can work). Constantly being asked to fill out new availability sheets because you want to implement new guidelines on the number of hours required to work is getting old. Sales associates don't get any benefits, vacation/sick paid time off so they should be able to have a personal life. Expect too much and get very little in return.
