Pros

Classroom autonomy, students and parents

Cons

Nepotism, management demeaning towards employees, management represents teachers work as their own, only promotes and offers opportunities to the favored employees (best friends of management, sister-in-laws) no money given for classroom projects, teachers are expected to pay.

Advice to Management

Show a little respect for the wonderful teachers who really do love their jobs and their students and not use their kindness against them.

I worked at Rancho Solano Preparatory School full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Outstanding leadership and excellent teachers.

    Cons

Extraordinarily wealthy busybody moms who insert themselves into EVERY school activity, and complain to administration about new teachers. Yes, this is personal.

    Advice to Management

Educate your employees about school policies that might affect their job status.

I worked at Rancho Solano Preparatory School full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great kids, parents and most teachers genuinely care about the students. Nice buildings and grounds.

    Cons

Extremely incompetent administration/business office staff and excessively high turnover rate due to firings and resignations. In 3 years, multiple complaints consisting of adult bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, age, race and gender discrimination, retaliation, inappropriate use of adult websites with school computers on campus, favoritism, nepotism, sexism, ignorance towards what is going on in the classroom, outdated technology and limited school supplies/materials, irrelevant professional development, lack of focus or a plan (owners keep changing), administration and favored teachers consistently show up late for work, but others are held to a different standard. If you are female, you are to be seen and not heard. If you do speak up, you better agree with administrative ideas. Performance evaluations are given without ever viewing the teacher teaching. Difficult to find good reviews in recent articles written online about the new owners.

    Advice to Management

    Find another line of work.
