I worked at Raymond James Financial full-time

Pros

Full-service brokerage firm with abundance of learning opportunities within headquarters. Decent benefits package. People are generally great to work with. Senior management has done a great job so-far of leading after disconnecting from leadership of the James family.

Cons

Hard to move up within your own group. Supervisors/Managers say they want to help career growth, but do not offer insight or follow-up to ensure you are on track - nor are they willing to actually develop talent, would rather higher those with experience than develop stars into supervisory positions. 401k match is a bit antiquated, as is the vacation/sick time mix. Slow to make changes in trouble spots - keep beating the square peg into the round hole.

Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to look within to develop talent in supervisors and managers. Look for ways to recognize leaders and those who produce good work.

    Pros

    Very stable company, family oriented.

    Cons

New IT management is pushing people away, not sure how the company can sustain itself with the current turnover.

I have been working at Raymond James Financial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have never worked for a company that had such fantastic and omnipresent corporate culture. When you work for Raymond James, you're proud to admit it. Colleague and upper management interaction is regular and civil. They invest a lot of money and time in technology and it shows. Things actually work! The company is highly ethical.

    Cons

    The salary is deplorable.
Management doesn't let qualified employees move upward.

    Advice to Management

Restricted equity awards to lower-level staff would prevent lots of attrition.
