    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Raytheon produces many great systems for the U.S. military and has a strong reputation for excellence. Raytheon has excellent IT.

    Cons

Raytheon expects too much from too few employees. Very little paid time off available. Lack of training on Raytheon policies for employees. While widely promoted, 6 sigma project recommendations rarely implemented.

    Advice to Management

Properly staff programs to meet requirements. Stop publicly berating employees. Promptly implement recommendations from 6 sigma projects instead of ignoring them.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Work with some of the best and brightest engineers in the country. Learn good processes.

    Cons

Defense industry is shrinking. Company seeks large and expensive programs and growth is stagnating. Little investment has been made in securing needed future capabilities. Company leadership is shortsighted, not aligned with DOD new way of doing business, and old generations (who should retire) prevent younger more capable leaders from advancing. Good company to start working for and leave.

    Advice to Management

Much of the leadership will have to shift. This will likely mean replacing current middle management that cannot understand DOD's new problems and what investments to make to secure a future with systems the military will care about.
