I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

One of the few employers in town not in the service industry.

    Cons

Campaigns to get good ratings for share holders, not the reality of working there. People aren't treated on an equal level based on knowledge, it's all about who likes who.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the micro mangers. Treat people with respect, make that reality and not just a banner.

I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting technical work for skilled engineers. Engineering problems are challenging and diverse. Opportunities for professional growth are abundant and there are clearly established career paths to follow

    Cons

The company is very large - upwards of 70,000 employees. In any organization that size, beauracracy becomes entrenched. Raytheon is a very process driven organization. Knowing how to navigate within the process can be frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Consider making performance bonuses a larger part of the entire compensation package
