I have been working at Raytheon full-time

    Pros

Pay seems to be at or above market. Raytheon is a big player in the defense industry, so you'll get to know it well. If you're an early career HR professional, this may be a great place to stay for a few years to get some experience.

    Cons

Antiquated performance management philosophy, no real HR innovation. You're graded against your peers in order to get a raise, so no real incentive to collaborate with other HR people. Incredibly tactical, administrative HR function focused only on deadlines, not on process improvements.

    Advice to Management

Show up as leaders, not just managers. Reward those willing to innovate and find better ways to do to things. Figure out how to make the HR Services Model actually work so that every HR role isn't just a tactical / admin role.

    Pros

good benefits; good low-mid level leadership

    Cons

communication from higher ups needs to be more transparent

    Advice to Management

Even if you don't have all the information or the 100% right answer, give your employees something. "No news is never good news"
