Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Paycheck, life/work balance, and health benefits.

Cons

Incompetent and unprofessional management team from project level up to department level. No technical training, ability to transfer, or career advancement opportunities. My design section had 8 managers who all quit the company within a 5 year span. No innovation and lack of focus in business. Real engineering design work is performed in El Segundo, California. Management politics dominate throughout all project functions.

I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Competitive pay
Provide tools needed to do job
Overall the benefits are good though healthcare is relatively expensive

    Cons

Too many people with narrowly focused jobs - don't get bigger picture.
    Way too much mandatory training.
Feeling of "Us vs them" amongst departments.
Constantly re-orging company. My business line has had 3 in the last 4 years

    Advice to Management

Having a position of power doesn't mean you're smarter than those who work for you.

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great people, above average benefits

    Cons

Was layed off with no warning after giving them over 20 years of service. I thought my position was secure since we were building product and there was more on the horizon.

    Advice to Management

I thought I would be able to retire with Raytheon, but to be let go with no notice and no option to work a couple of weeks to be able to find another job internally just sucks!

My advice to all persons applying for a job with Raytheon's Advanced Products Center at the TI LBJ/75 Location is to look elsewhere.
