I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

There are very talented and nice people working there. However, there are pretty bad people there, too. Salary and benefit are pretty good, pension plan (for employees that have been there for a while) is very good.

Cons

They promote young good talkers too fast. Some of these young engineers don't have good solid skills, just know the buzz words and know how to take credit for other people's work. Some of the managers are no-technical, so they don't know how to judge.

Advice to Management

Need to have good technical people to lead and to manage. That way they don't just think good talkers are the future of the company.

I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and depending on your skills there is the possibility for many opportunities

    Cons

Because it is a defense contractor many of the positions are dependent on contracts. Also they are now trying to outsource many jobs to reduce costs. I have also noticed that they are not very many opportunities for those new into their career, most of their positions require 10+ years experience. So if you do get into the company before then you are kind of stuck.

I have been working at Raytheon as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Raytheon has a very entrepreneurial spirit so there is not much micromanaging going on. The company has excellent tools in order to get the job done and dynamic team members who are extremely helpful. Some opportunities existed for remote work/flexible schedule, which was a huge plus.

    Cons

Most new hires were a bit overwhelmed with the amount of applications/systems/processes to learn their first few weeks. Being such a large, established company, a bit of bureaucracy exists as well.
