I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great company with great products and challenging technical work. Enjoyed working there as an electrical engineer.

Cons

Would have liked to seen more of a technical ladder. Management tended to be very program centric. Sometimes hard to move between programs.

Advice to Management

Well run organizations.

I have been working at Raytheon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Raytheon has excellent benefits, high pay, promotes diversity and work-life balance. Raytheon has internal job postings. Every open position needs to be posted for at least 5 days.

    Cons

Raytheon has evolved from an engineering company to a process company. Creativity is not appreciated. You must follow the process. The performance management system is very flawed. Merit raises are based on rankings and the rankings are done by high level managers without knowledge of the employees actual performance.

    Advice to Management

Get back to being an engineering company. Promote creativity and research. Come up with new solutions rather than trying to export old solutions globally.

I worked at Raytheon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people you work with are good. Hours are usually 9 hours M-Th, and 4 hours on Fridays.

    Cons

The benefits they offer are getting worse and worse because they try to be more competitive. They got rid of their normal employee bonuses and will lay you off to save money. Fairly bureaucratic and lots of compensation issues. Little opportunity to move up the ladder too.
