Pros

A company with great values. You feel good about what you are doing because the work is meaningful and the mission is socially responsible. A young company with lots of potential for making great improvements.

Cons

A young company takes lots of work to keep moving forward.

Advice to Management

Managers need more practice managing.

I worked at Real Food For Real Kids part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best thing about this place is the people. They do a great job making sure that there is a good network of people who work together. Definitely one of the more healthy working environments I've been in. You do get fed a lunch every day and at the end of the week (and sometimes during the week), if there's left-overs or sample dishes from the in-house kitchen, you can take that home. And all the food is super healthy. I've gone home with a lot of food and not have to cook for a few days. Huge plus! And they have great Christmas parties!

    Cons

You do have to adjust your schedule if you're not used to waking up early. You can start at 6 or 7am, but you finish early (12:30 or by 1:30pm). Depending what your position is there, you can feel like there's only a few people who move up. The problem with RFRK is you can get very comfortable there and it can kill your ambition, which is not a bad thing if you're not super ambitious. And they're not super generous when it comes to raises. It's perfect if you're in transition/between jobs and you need to pay the bills, but if you strive for more, you will get antsy.

    Advice to Management

Make the drivers feel a little more appreciated. A raise of some sort at least once a year would boost morale. And drivers should get their benefits the same time as the office staff. These are the things that would make a big difference.

I have been working at Real Food For Real Kids part-time

    Pros

A company with great values that you can feel good about working for. The kids are cute. And if there is food left over after serving the kids you get to take it home.

    Cons

Although there are some former lunch club coaches who have moved on to full-time positions elsewhere in the company, in general this is only part-time work.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.
