I have been working at Red Lobster full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Caring company that errs on the side of caution when dealing with employee issues. Clearn direction and support.

Cons

Budgets have shrunk significantly in this challenging economy negatively impacting the fluidity of the operation on a daily basis. Benefits package reduced.

Advice to Management

The smallwares budget should be increased to improve operations through put. Labor goals are ambitious and in places where the staff is avg to below avg. The quality of service is negatively impacted. Too focused on profit perhaps and reinvestment in your staff and technology may be required at some point to ensure the longevity of your current success.

    I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    You can get free biscuits whenever you want. Other than that there's really no pros to this job.

    Cons

    Extremely low hours. Sometimes even 4 hours a week. Management acts like children. Everything that goes wrong is blamed on the host. You get yelled at by managers, servers, and guests. Everyday is just a survival game.

    Advice to Management

    Don't blame everything that happens in the restaurant on your employees.

    Pros

    - Flexible schedule; management was willing to work with my school schedule
    - Quick money
    - No menu test
    - Nice co-workers
    - Closed early

    Cons

    - The GM did not communicate with all the restaurant managers aka they were not on the same page
    - Poorly run kitchen
