I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Higher than average check averages for the casual-dining resturant model.
Free cheddar biscuts

Cons

non-cohesive management strategy.
trying to compete with unrelated markets (fast casual dining)
implementing a hiring strategy that causes experienced applicants to not apply/stay

Advice to Management

stop trying to compete with panera/Mccallister's, they are different models fundementaly. Truely focus on customer experience rather than saying you are, but really trying to make servers into baristas/counter people.

    - great people
    - decent benefits

    Cons

    - can get extremely fast paced
    - shifts can be extremely long or extremely short depending on flow of guests.

    Listen to employees.

    Clientele, Micro-manager supervisors, promotions offered

    Advice to Management

    The management acts as if the restaurant is a fine dining atmosphere, but really we are the furthest from that with the promotions we offer and the clientele that comes in.
