I worked at Red Lobster full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My fellow employees after 7 years - like family. Money was good when I had the chance to make it. Honestly I loved job. Have gotten 2 letters of recognition from corporate.

    Cons

Working every Sunday. No support from management - having to take the blame for problems you have no control over.. Not being treated fairly.

    Advice to Management

Promote qualified people to management positions, monitor all management to insure all employees are treated fairly. Teach management to say thank you and job well done to deserving employees. Also never to take tips that should be their servers. When management changed in Burleson - it became the same people that got the "good" schedules & money making sections. It made no difference how good you did your job - unprofessional favoritism was out of control. This Red Lobster lost several long term employees. If they could not make you quit - you might find yourself suddenly terminated for trumped up circumstances out of you control. I know this for a fact because it happened to me & I am still in disbelief. I have over 20 yrs experience as a server including fine dining - I miss my job.

I have been working at Red Lobster part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great money for a food service/waiter job
    very flexible scheduling
    great employee food discount
    high menu prices
    experienced management
    manageable sections
    easy side work
    good teamwork

    Cons

    guests can be demanding
management can show no mercy when there is a wait
    running sidework is often overlooked
management will keep you on the clock until wait is over, no matter how early you came in
four course promotions and all you can eat can be stressful
    lots of coupons

    Advice to Management

help out more, besides just table touches, run your servers food and dont rely on other servers or SA's to run food during busy times, cut servers earlier, no need to keep them on so long when its clean business has declined, dont keep people waiting to cash out
